A rabid tribal snow frenzy broke out in Aspen on Friday, with crazed locals foaming at the mouth upon witnessing tantalizing hints of the epic winter to come--snow starved eyes awoke to heaps of snow coating the upper reaches of the valley.
NZ FREESKI OPEN: Big Mountain Final
New Zealanders Alastair Eason and Janina Kuzma made good on their home turf, taking out the men's and women's Big Mountain titles of the Volkl NZ Freeski Open by the Royal NZ Air Force today at Treble Cone.
ROSSIGNOL SOLD: Quiksilver Sells Struggling Company
After a short-lived probe into the winter sports world, Quiksilver, Inc., an apparel and footwear brand with roots in the surf industry, announced Wednesday that it had found a buyer for the diminishing Rossignol Group. Quiksilver first acquired the company back in 2005, but has since struggled to successfully market and promote the company.
SUNSET SESSIONS: Playing After Work in Chile
One of my favourite past times here in Chile has been our regular after-work photo sessions. Shooting as the sun sets behind the Andes Mountains, the reflections off the clouds lighting up the sky like an Amsterdam brothel. No we aren't sponsored skiers or professional photographers shooting the next Matchstick Productions film. We're just a few guys who like building and sessioning a jump and sometimes coming home with some colourful images.
LAKE TAHOE CROSSING: Skiers and others paddleboard to benefit Foundation
On August 11, 2008, a handful of pro skiers, surfers, and snowboarders participated in the crossing of Lake Tahoe via Paddleboard to benefit the Bob Woodruff Foundation. The fundraiser provided funds and awareness for Iraq and Afghan war vets that have sustained traumatic brain injuries.
